Successful public officials have the support of their neighbors and community residents. Elections are more than just counting ballots, it is the education of the electorate about the candidates, their positions on issues, their accomplishments, their commitment to constituent services, and their vision. In Lawrence, large numbers of voters move out-of-town during every election cycle and new voters come of age or move to our community. These new voters frequently do not know my record of service, or my state and national leadership on energy, natural resources, education, and health care issues.
Financial contributions from persons who do know me and believe that I am making a positive difference for our community and state are essential for me to reach these new Douglas County voters. In addition to financial contributions, I invite you to help develop yard sign locations, host neighborhood “Meet Tom” gatherings, and campaign with me when I am in your neighborhood.
